About me

Me and Henry

Hi, this is Ziyue (Humphrey) Yang. I am a PhD student in economics at Australian National University, supervized by Professor John Stachurski.

I am also a research assistant at QuantEcon. I worked as a research assistant at ANU Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics (RSFAS) and a summer intern at Data61, CSIRO (where Ronald Fisher spent his final years) researching statistical learning and the security of generative adversarial networks and other forms of generative models.

I graduated from my bachelor degrees in Data Analytics and Politics, Philosophy and Economics in 2023.

When I have free time, I enjoy hiking around Canberra (there are lots of kangaroos)! Sometimes I spend hours trying to catch up with the latest tech news.

Apart from that, I spend most of my time tweaking my programs and learning maths and economic theory with huge help from John and Tom, and a group of supportive friends at ANU.
