Hi there, this is Humphrey.

Me and Henry

Hi, this is Ziyue (Humphrey) Yang. I am a PhD student in economics at Australian National University, supervized by Professor John Stachurski. I am also a research assistant at QuantEcon and ANU Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics (RSFAS). I was a summer intern at Data61, CSIRO (where Ronald Fisher spent his final years) researching the security of generative adversarial networks and other forms of generative models. I graduated from my bachelor degrees in Data Analytics and Politics, Philosophy and Economics in 2023.

My research interest lies in deep learning, statistical learning, high-performance computing, and data-driven computational social science -- especially their intersections with economics and finance.

When I have free time, I enjoy hiking around Canberra and traveling to taste different food. If I were to rank the cities I've visited, my top three would be Kunming (where I was born and raised), Kyoto (known for its good food and beautiful sunsets), and Canberra (where I currently reside).

Apart from that, I spend most of my time working with data and learning theory with huge help from John and Tom.
